Lathyrism and Epidemic dropsy

What are the chemicals responsible for side effects associated with Lathyrism and epidemic dropsy?
Remember LAB is an Emergency Service
  • LAthyrism caused by eating Legumes causes toxic effects with BOAA (ß-N-oxalyl-amino-L-alanine)
  • Epidemic dropsy  (due to intoxication with Argemone mexicana) has it's toxic effects due to Sanguinarine
