Medical software for Android mobile : Epocrates
This is a fantastic software which I personally used. Revise your pharmacology, check for drug interactions on the go. You need internet, preferably wifi connection for first downloading and updating the data and completing the free registration but later you have all stored in your android mobile. There are also lots of calculators including pregnancy wheel, drug dosing calculator, mean arterial pressure, Parkland's formula, Pediatric maintainace fluid calculator, unit conversions etc to name a few. Another useful utility for quick revision and memory are the "tables" - Includes steps in ACLS - The ABCDs, Bradycardia, Rapid sequence intubation, Tachycardia etc ; Antibiotic regimen tables; Drug classes table (comparison of corticosteroids, etc); Endocrinology - Insulin comparison; Pediatric vaccinations; Glassgow coma scale; Apgar score; Normal lab values in adults....... and the vast list goes on.
The software is available for all mobile platforms including iPod/iPhone, Blackberry, Palm, Windows mobile etc.

Note: Start from '4' - The time these EPS appears are 4 hours, 4 days, 4 weeks, 4 months in that order.
- 4 hrs - acute DYStOnia (DISCO) {EPS occurs like disco!}
- 4 days - akINesia (IN)

Treatment of Leprosy
For Paucibacillary Leprosy -
Explanation: The denominator is the monthly drug to be taken. In case of multibacillary leprosy, note that the dose of Clofazamine, be it monthly or daily, is half the dose of other drug taken along with it ( 100 / 2 = 50, 600 / 2 = 300 ). Duration of treatment is 1/2 yrs and 2 yrs for Pauci & Multibacillary leprosy respectively.
- Daily - Dapsone 100 mg
- Monthly - Rifampicin 600 mg
- Duration: 6 months
- Daily - Dapsone 100 mg + Clofazamine 50 mg
- Monthly - Rifampicin 600 mg + Clofazamine 300 mg
- Duration: 2 yrs

Vitamin D metabolism
UV rays from sun act on skin, convert Cholecalciferol (CC) --> 25 Hydroxy CC in liver --> 1,25 Di Hydroxy CC in kidney.
So there are two hydroxylation reactions, first in Liver, second in Kidney. Remember this: You have 1 liver, 2 kidneys; So hydroxylation 1st reaction in your 1 liver and 2nd hydroxylation in 2 kidneys.
